Hi, we are getting into full swing with pre-production. Heck, we might as well call it production. . .
The play we are producing as well called "Eighteen" opens tomorrow evening at Pittsburgh Playwrights located downtown in our cultural dist. across from the Six Penn Restaurant. Should be a really viceral performance.
Here is a synopsis -
------------------
Following the death of her mother, a fragile 17-year-old girl, Christine, comes to live with her Aunt Marie and Uncle Dan. Upon her arrival, Marie begins to show off her considerable culinary skills. Together she and Dan initiate Christine into the pleasures of the palate. This exploration of appetite in their evening ritual begins to blur the boundaries between adult and child, thought and action, feeding and consuming. The play's climax lives in the intersection of these in-between spaces -- where the child becomes an adult; where thought creates action; where feeding becomes consuming.
------------------
Sounds like a real gripper. Can't wait to see it again and again.
The performances start Wed Aug 8th and run through the rest of the month.
The two lead performers in the play; Dana Hardy and Tony Bingham are also the leads opposite Corbin Bernsen and Tom Atkins in Trapped.
We have a special "invite only" for the performance on Saturday Eve, and I am really looking forward to seeing everyone there!
